What to expect when hiring Aerocam Imaging.

Once you have called and discussed your requirments with us we will gather as much information from you about the location and any obvious hazards which could be present. We will then look closely at satelite imagery of your location to have a rough idea before turning up of your setup. Now for any reason that there are some hazards we may ask to do a site survey before we commision the job to make sure that any hazards can be worked around. For some sites we will require permission from the CAA, we will inform you if this is the case and we will seek their permission before we fly.

For the mast:

If we can shoot from the mast and acheive the desired goal we will do so. The mast extends to 60ft and captures perfectly what most clients require.  The mast takes about 25 minuits to setup and a further 20 mins to take down and pack up. We always advise the client to spare an hour if you plan to use the area we shoot from for any of your daily operations.  The mast does need to be setup on fairly solid ground and be accesable to vehicles.

From the rc helicopter:

The helicopter offers a more mobile platform to shoot from and is not fixed in one location and sometimes can provide a desired shot where vehicle entrance is an issue. The helicopter has a pre-flight mechanical check before any flight which is always carried out on site.  When flying the helicopter we will look very closely at the site and will also need a clear flight path away from any pedestrians or traffic. If the client could cordon of the area and keep interested eyes away from the operation this is a huge help towards us acheiving our goal.  The helicopter can fly for about 20 minuits with payload before needing to be re-fueled. The camera operator has a clear video view of what the camera is seeing and can get the right shot without any guess work. Once the helicopter lands we will then take a quick look at the captured photographs, make sure we got what we came for, then pack up. Due to the technical checks, flight setup and a test flight a half day minimum is required to do a shoot.

Once we have finished shooting:

Now that the images have been captured we will give you options on how you would want the images sent to you. (CD/DVD, Canvas, Harboard, Printed, or emailed) We will take the details and head back to our office and start to choose what we feel are the best captured images of the day.  If any further photoshop work is required we also offer that as an addition to your price but you will always be contacted before the work is done to see if you feel its necessary.

Payment:

Once the job is complete we will send the images with an attached invoice. The client then has 14 days to pay the full amount owed. You can pay on the day if you so wish and a receipt will be sent to you the next day via email or post.

Q&A:

Q. Do I need to be present during the shoot?

A. No. After we know what you want captured you dont have to attend.

Q. Are we able to sell your pictures?

A. All images are copyright of Aerocam Imaging. If you wish to distribute or sell our work we will sell you the copyright to do so.

Q. Can we sit with you to make sure we get the right images?

A. Of course. The camera sends live images to the van so you can sit with the camera operator and choose what you think is best. We will always advise from our experience as to what works and what doesnt.

Q. Are you available to work on weekends?

A. Yes and at no further charge.

Q. When cant you shoot?

A. On windy and/or rainy days. High wind causes a safety issue for the mast and the helicopter and also the pictures do not come out well due to unpredicatable movement. All our equipment is not waterproof and also rain spots on the lens will prevent a good photograph.

Q. Can you shoot at night?

A. No. We do not shoot anything in the dark.

Q. We are near an airport or in controlled airspace, can you still fly?

A. For this we need to obtain specific permissions from the CAA and the local Air Traffic Controller to fly. We will always abide by the laws and constraints issued by the CAA. The mast posses no issues.
